The Chambers of Commerce and Industry that took part in the business forum “Three Seas Initiative” in Sofia, held under the auspices of the President Rumen Radev had the opportunity to hold a productive discussion. The meeting was attended by representatives of national and bilateral business organisations from 9 countries. The focus of the discussion was the priority areas of the Three Seas Initiative – transport, energy and information connectivity.
The Executive Director of the Bulgarian-Romanian Chamber Ms. Eleonora Ivanova shared the experience of the organisation in two of the priority areas – transport and energy. For the past 5 years, the Bulgarian-Romanian Chamber has been an active participant in international projects related to improving the connectivity of the Danube countries and improving the conditions for inland waterway transportation of people and goods. Since the beginning of June, the organisation is part of an international consortium within the SEIFA project (SUSTAINABLE ENERGY INVESTING AND FINANCING ACTIVATION). Its main goal is to create an institutional and organisational base for providing private equity investments in enterprises from Central and Eastern Europe, aimed at reducing the industrial carbon footprint of the existing infrastructure.
The representatives of the National Chambers of Commerce and Industry signed a declaration to encourage companies to participate in projects that can be beneficial for the initiative, as well as for active cooperation with European and international institutions and organisations.
The chambers of commerce and industry are looking to increase the effect of their cooperation, as well as opportunities to implement the objectives of the Three Seas Initiative.
