Record in trading during Black Friday in Bulgaria and Romania

The e-commerce platform for furniture and home decorations Vivre has generated over 10,5 million euro in sales on Black Friday, as announced by the company. Vivre's clients have ordered and paid for more than 300 000 products. Vivre is a member of Bulgarian-Romanian Chamber and operates in nine countries in Central and Eastern Europe - Romania, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Croatia, Greece, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.

The Black Friday in Romania marked an absolute trading record. In its tenth edition, 585.7 million RON (approximately 123 mln. euro) worth of orders were made just through the eMAG platform, 17% more compared to last year and 17 times more than 10 years ago. More than half of the orders were paid online and that happened for the first time – payments with bank cards (credit or debit) to be more than payments in cash. More than 1.7 million products from 3000 categories were ordered in Romania, which is a growth of over 30% compared to last year. 70% of the orders during Black Friday will be shipped in the first five days.

Bulgaria also marked a record. The orders in eMAG, just during the Black Friday, were valued at 47.6 million BGN (24.4 mln. euro), which is an increase of 17% compared to 2019. Representatives of the platform stated, that 72,65% of the overall traffic came from mobile devices. The number of ordered products was 339 812.

The Black Friday campaign is an indicator for the development of e-commerce and eMAG is of the opinion that this year confirmed the trend, which was set by clients - the number of people who shop online has increased significantly and their interests are not only in the electronics and IT categories anymore; clients have embraced mobile devices as an easy-to-use method of online order placement and the average value of the shopping cart has increased by 9% – to 267 BGN.
